What Students Will Learn

Computer Systems Servicing NC II is divided into several core competencies:

1. Computer Hardware Installation and Maintenance
-Students learn to assemble, disassemble, and maintain computer hardware, including motherboards, memory modules, storage devices, power supplies, and peripheral components. This ensures that students can troubleshoot hardware failures and perform preventive maintenance efficiently. 

2. Operating System Installation and Configuration
-Installing and configuring operating systems is a fundamental skills. Students practice setting up client and server operating systems, creating user accounts, configuring system settings, and applying updates to maintain system stability and security. 

3.  Network Configuration
-Students gain knowledge in IP addressing, networking topologies, cabling standards, and basic network troubleshooting. They also learn how to connect multiple computers to a local area network and ensure proper communication between devices. 

4.  Basic Server Setup
-Server fundamentals include installing and configuring basic services, managing shared resources, and understanding server-client configurations. Students learn how to maintain a server environment and provide network services to clients effectively. 

5. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving
-Learners are trained to systematically diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. This competency encourages logical thinking and hands-on problem-solving skills that are crucial for ICT support roles. 

6. Documentation and Reporting
-Proper documentation is emphasized for system configurations, maintenance activities, and technical reports. This ensures transparency, accountability, and effective communication in real workplace scenarios. 

By completing all these competencies, students become well-prepared for technical positions in ICT, including support roles, system administration, and network maintenance.
